Uploading Documents
Docscope supports PDF, DOCX, EPUB, PPTX, Excel, Markdown, plain text, images (with OCR), URLs, and YouTube videos. Maximum file size is 50MB per document. For best results, use text-based PDFs rather than scanned images. Scanned documents are automatically processed with OCR, but text-based files provide faster and more accurate results.
Chatting with Documents
When you ask a question, Docscope uses Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to find the most relevant chunks from your documents and sends them as context to the AI. Every answer includes citations linking back to the exact source text. Choose from Strict (document-only), Balanced (default), or Creative modes depending on your use case.
Flashcards & Quizzes
Select any document and click 'Generate Flashcards' to automatically create study cards from the content. You can also generate practice quizzes with multiple choice and open-ended questions. Track your scores over time and focus on areas where you need improvement.
Workspaces & Teams
Workspaces let you organize documents and team members into groups. Create a workspace from the sidebar, then invite members with specific roles: Owner (full control), Admin (manage members and docs), Member (upload and chat), or Viewer (read-only). Documents can be private or shared with the workspace.
Embedding Chat Widget
Go to Settings → Widget to generate your embed code. Customize the widget appearance (colors, welcome message, position) and copy the one-line JavaScript snippet. Paste it before the closing body tag on your website. The widget will instantly provide AI-powered answers from your uploaded documents.
AI Model Selection
Docscope supports four AI providers: Groq (fast, free tier), Google Gemini, OpenAI, and Anthropic. You can bring your own API keys (BYOK) for any provider. Groq is great for speed, OpenAI and Anthropic for complex analysis, and Gemini for a balance of both. Switch models anytime from Settings → AI Model.
